Cruising la freeways like a boss! This is a first year kz1000p police bike. This is the same model and year as used in the california highway patrol tv show chips. Early promotional materials show early j engined p models and late mkii engined c models. The serial number of this bike ending in 500499 indicates this bike was built in the usa and was the 499th off the production line. Such a low serial number would make this a great bike for a museum or collection. The was my everyday rider in 2015 and man it was a blast to ride. Getting nods and waves from bears on bikes is really fun. The police bike chassis is super stable and can be leaned over till the floorboards drag. This example is pretty original and in fairly good condition. The odometer only shows 17k, but the title says 80,000. I think the meter is correct judging by condition and the fact that this was a northern ohio bike. It's rare for those to get to really high mileage because of the short riding season. The saddle bags are nice and not cracked, lids close fine. The fairing is in original kawasaki paint and has a kawasaki stamped windshield. The brakes all work good and there is plenty of meat on both the pads and the discs all the way around. The front fender is a little bowed but totally functional. A couple of electrical items in the gauges were having intermittent problems. They don't affect how it runs or rides so i didn't bother to track them down. Terms of sale :bike is located in columbus ohio, i can get it to cleveland oh, lexington ky, knoxville or chattanooga tn cheaply but not quickly as i go to all those places on a regular basis. We recommend uship and haulbikes .
